Explanations for the last post.

In the previous post, you may wonder why on earth Rayon was a girl and Snow was a boy. All this is explained in a special Magical Kingdom chapter, dedicated to Frg's birthday. I rarely post excerpts on here (due to my hatred toward online thieves), but this time, I shall.

From The kingdom for S & E 12, part one, book six:

"...Frg pressed his face against the glass window embedded in the door. His breath fogged up the glass, and his skin stretched eerily as he grinned like a maniac at me. I tried to go back to writing quietly, but found it extraordinarily difficult. Frg continued staring at me with a lunatic grin.

“Argh,” I moaned. I stood, whirling on my heel and stalking up to the door. I flung the door open violently, effectively smacking Frg across the face with it. Frg reeled. I loomed over him as he collapsed- back first –onto the dew-covered soil.

“Happy birthday, now leave me alone!” I cried. Frg got to his feet, brushing himself off.

“I pranked you. You hit me,” he said, “Twice. Now I’ll prank you again.”

“If it’s a prank war you want,” I jabbed my right index finger fiercely at him, “It’s a prank war you’ve got.”

Frg grinned, “Only fools are positive.”

“It’s on, Frg.”..."

The rest of the chapter was full of pranks. Eventually, all of the Magical World Warriors joined in. Frg got them to team up against me in a giant prank-fest. My revenge was sweet. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to hiding in the attic.

Have a good Saturday!

How to Draw (Get AHead!)

I have carefully drawn a head, with each step included. For this particular example, it's how to draw Rayon, but this process works for any other head too.

First, draw an egg-shape for the head. Add a nose in the middle.
Next, add the eyes. Pay attention to proportions- they're about one eye apart from each other.
Finish the eyes. Add a basic line for the eyebrows, and the mouth. The positioning of both of these can change the look of the entire face, so be careful.

Make the eyebrows more realistic. Draw smaller lines pointing towards the center of the face, as shown below. Ears come next. The top of the ear starts near the eyes, and the bottom stops near the mouth, as shown.

Now, the hair goes last. Starting near the top of the head, draw several quick lines. Different hairstyles will be drawn in different ways, but this is a how to do Rayon's hair. Remember to try to keep the hair and eyebrows the same shade.
Finally, color in the rest of the hair.

Ta da!

Chibis

Last night was insane. I was hyper, with chibis on the brain. So I drew a bunch of them.

For those of you who don't know what a chibi is, it's a cartoon-ified character who has no nose. I drew the Magical World Warriors as chibis (please ignore the scale) :

(Click on the picture to see it bigger.)

After that, my brain went into overdrive and I drew everything else as chibis. Please- enjoy the insanity. It's good for you.

The post title is always WRONG

I've had a long, hard, unproductive day today. I only barely remembered today was an update day.

I don't feel good, so all I'm going to say is... see how many times you can work this into a conversation:

"The _____ is always wrong!"

You watch... soon everything is always wrong!

Saint Patrick's Day Rant

Today is Saint Patrick's Day! It's the one day of the year where everyone you meet is suddenly Irish, people wear green clothing, people say annoying phrases they think are witty, and meanwhile I am sitting quietly in my corner listening to Celtic and not wearing green.

I appreciate any holiday- it's important to appreciate holidays, rather than accidentally offend someone -and St. Patrick's Day is no exception. The only problem I have with it is, why isn't it during the school week? There have been weekday St. Patrick's Days in the past, yes, but I've never gotten them off from school.

Saint Patrick's Day should be during the week. That way, I can declare it a holiday due to my (year round) Irish heritage, and take school off. Just ask any high schooler- they'd agree with me. Maybe the teachers too. After all, who doesn't want a day off?

Another quibble. On Saint Patrick's Day, suddenly everyone you meet claims Irish heritage, even if you're pretty sure they're not. Those who really do have an Irish heritage aren't taken seriously. Finally, it all come down to having a time machine. Go back in time, find your ancestors, and see if they live in Ireland. Then come talk to me.

Annoying phrases are annoying. It's simple, however redundant that statement was. "Top 'o the morning!" is the most common one. You wouldn't say that the rest of the year, would you? You would say, "Good morning", or if you're like me, "Guten morgen." I don't even think Irish people say "Top o' the morning!" regularly.

I forget where I was going with this, but none of it applies to leprechauns. So if you are a leprechaun with Internet, then disregard all of the above. You have a good excuse to say or do anything I've complained about. Just don't come anywhere near my house. I have a gun.

That is all.

Edit: Yes, yes, I changed the background. I wanted it to be spring-like, but I couldn't find one I liked. So, space! I like this one. It may or may not become permanent.

Finally, a normal post!

After a very successful closing to the graphic novel, the 60k mark on a novel, and several other giant projects coming to a close... (hey, check it out- my 100th post!) ...I have begun planning for April. April 1st, to be precise.

Not only is April 1st a day of pranks, but it is also the fourteenth birthday of a certain trickster. I will enjoy writing his birthday immensely. (I bet you didn't know that I've been writing with Frg since he was ten years old. Now he's turning fourteen!)

In other news, I am experimenting with doing artwork in MS Paint. Take a look:

AotDSoD 25

I have some news, my dear blog readers. I finished editing 'Freedom's Eyes', and it is now 60,500 words long. Over the next few months, I will be editing it like mad. My goal is to be published by December 2012.

I know what you're thinking. "So... the world is going to end because you're published?"

Anyway, for the last two graphic novel pages!

Victory

I now interrupt your mindless internet browsing for a novel update.

(Click on the second image to see it better.)

I have finished my novel.

Rayon's novel, that is.

AotDSoD 20

Ok, yes, I took some short cuts with the second half of this page. Give me a break- I was drawing all nine of the Magical World Warriors! Also, this is the only pic where I actually drew Wütend right.
